The annual deluge of Halloween that will soon become a roar has begun with a whisper that has slowly become its own rumble – AvatarUX has exposed a spooky new release, Zombie aPOPalypse™ and it has a brand-new game mechanic in its PopWins™ line of innovation.
The game narrative has the player allied with the ever-increasing and unsto[ppable zombie horde fighting against a small band of living survivors. Beyond the ho-hum common fare enjoyed by the undead, your rewards can includeup to 20,000x bet on this 5×4 game with pays running in both directions.
The innovator’s existing PopWin mechanic creates a second symbol for each one that is part of a winning combination – this game does something different – for every win that occurs, the MultiPop™ mechanic locks a multiplier to the cell (not the symbol). After wins are paid, the cell is repopulated with another symbol. New symbols are generated for every win and any multiplier cells that participate in a consecutive win are increased in value. Multiplier values can grow as high as 5x during the base game.
When a cell reaches the 5x multiplier stage, the zombie infection can spread rapidly in the base game with between 4 and 12 more cells receiving a 1x and increasing multiplier. The infection spreads randomly but prioritizes cells that do not yet have a multiplier applied.
The Brain icons are scatter symbols. Three or more of them will activate free spins. In this mode, the grid grows to a 5×5 configuration with the reel set staying that big until the feature is over, then returning to 5×4.
Before you enter the bonus mode, a gamble wheel will appear – gamble your free spins with a chance to win more or go straight into the free spins round with a minimum number of free games guaranteed. In some jurisdictions, you will be able to go straight into the bonus with “one of two purchase buy options”.
In the bonus round multipliers go up as high as 10x and when all cells have a multiplier 2 additional free spins are awarded.
